Dr. Raghunath is a Director, Dept of Uro-oncology and Robotic surgery, HCG Cancer Hospital. Cofounder and Director, Trustwell hospital, Bangalore, India.

He completed his M.B.B.S. and M.S. (General Surgery) from the Government Medical College, Mysore, Mysore University. He completed his residency in urology (DNB) from Muljibhai Patel urological hospital, Nadiad, Gujarat.

Dr. Raghunath did his fellowship in Uro-Oncology from Rajiv Gandhi cancer institute and research centre(RGCI), Delhi. He completed his fellowship in laparoscopic and Robotic urology from Taipei City hospital and Mackey Memorial hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Raghunath was a visiting fellow in molecular oncology for prostate cancer at Centre for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR) and Walter Reed army university, at Maryland, Washington DC, USA (April – May 2013). Dr Raghunath has conducted more than 18 clinical trials in the field of prostate cancer and renal cancers. He has more than 20 national and international publications to his credit. He has authored few Urooncology book chapters.

Dr Raghunath has performed more than 4000 urooncological surgeries including many complex surgeries like nerve sparing radical prostatectomy (for prostate cancer), nerve sparing radical Cystectomy and ileal conduit and Neobladder (for urinary bladder cancer), radical and partial nephrectomy including zero ischemia partial nephrectomy (for kidney cancer), partial and radical penectomy and video Endoscopic inguinal lymphadenectomy (VEIL) (for penis Cancer), Radical orchidectomy and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (for testicular cancer) and surgeries for adrenal tumours. Dr Raghunath and his team has one of the largest series of performing these surgeries by open as well as by robotic means, in India.

Dr. Raghunath served as honourable secretary of Bangalore urological society (2013) and as a president of the same Bangalore urological society (2017). He is an active member of various associations and societies such as: Urological society of India; Society of Genito urinary oncologists India; Bangalore urological society; Karnataka urological association; Robotic Urology forum, India; European robotic Urology society; American Urology Association; European Urology association

Dr. Raghunath is a co-founder and one of the 4 directors of TRUSTWELL hospital, JC road, Bangalore. It is a 220 bedded state of the art multispeciality hospital in the central business district of Bangalore. He is the founder member of Society Of Genitourinary Oncologists (SOGO)of India, and serving as a honourable secretary to SOGO, the recently formed national level society for the education and knowledge sharing in the field of Genito urinary oncology.

Dr Raghunath is the founder chairman of global prostate disease foundation, an NGO to create awareness about prostate diseases, in particular prostate cancer amongst urologists and the community to prevent and detect the prostate cancer early. He is a co-founder of COMOFI medtech company and clinical director of COMOFI, a start-up company in Bangalore, involved in development of a robotic device to help surgeons to perform complex procedures. He is a TEDx speaker, spoke on robotic surgery at TEDx event at Dayanand sagar college of engineering in 2019. Dr. Raghunath is currently serving as Senior Consultant Uro-Oncologist and Director dept of Urooncology and robotic surgery at HCG cancer hospital and TRUSTWELL Hospital, Bangalore.
